Research 10

I chose the film "The Fall" for my final piece of research, one of the reasons I chose it is because so many different things happen and which I think makes it exciting anddrwas the viewer in. Another reason I chose The Fall was because everything that happens in slow motion which adds effect and gives the viewer more time to engage in what happening. In my final movie I would like to include slow motion in to some parts as I really like that effect. I also really like how the intro is in black and white.

Research 9

I chose this movie mainly because of the setting and location of where it is filmed. The location gives a sense of abondaned and isolated and is set in the dessert. We can tell that it is desserted by the tumble weed going across the road in one of the below screen shots. I also chose this film because in my movie I wanted it to be set in an abondaned or desserted place as I think it adds effect to the movie and it can be explored in many ways.

Research 8

I chose to include the movie Go because it was very different to all the other films I have chosen so far. I liked these screenshots because they showed a lot of different types of lighting and cameral angles. Each screen shot has different lighting which helps portray the different types of characters. In my final movie I would like to experiment with lighting and see how it effects my actors/ actresses in the movie.

Research 7

I really like the effect of the charcoal being dragged along the page, it makes it seem that the intro credits are going to be drawn with charcoal. Also the black charcoal could represent death and war in the movie.

A character has been drawn in this screen shot, I think its is a very clever way of showing characters.

Then the charcoal picture fades and shows a virtual clip of the actor, This is a good way of flipping from paper to film.

I like these screen shots because a bit of colour is added to the clips, red could resemble blood in this screen shot.

I really like how the viewers eyes go straight to the the character standing at the back, he seems far away and adds a mysterious effect with the dark shadows foreboding him.

Research 6

I chose the movie se7en because I liked all the camera angles techniques that it consists of.

I really like the style they went for when producing the opening credits. The lighting and colour makes it seem quite old fashioned and the music they chose draws the viewer in.

I liked this shot because only half of what the viewer sees is shown and half of it is dark. I think this gives a sinister effect.

I like the close up of the actors fingers because it makes the viewer think that we are looking at what the character is looking at and concentraiting on what is in their hands.

In the title I like how the V in the word seven is actually a 7, I think looks really clever.

In this screen shot it shows the actor writing, however to make it more exciting and interesting the hand is shadowed in the back ground, I like the way this effect has been created.

On the page in this screen shot a mysterious shadow is created on the page i think that it makes the shot seem more sinister and creepy.

Research 5

I chose to include Dexter in to my research because the opening credits are alot different and had good camera angles in them, than other movies I have seen. In the screen shot above I liked how the spider was in forcus and Dexter (The man behind) is out of focus.

I like how then it jumps to Dexter being in focus and the mosquito isn't in the camera shot.

The focus in this shot also switches between being in focus and out of focus, the back of Dexters head is in focus and the front of his face in the mirror reflection is out of focus. I would like to use something like this in my movie.

I like these two screen shots because the show what type of movie it is in more detail, for example blood shows that the film Dexter is about killing.

I chose these two screenshots because they consit of a close up of the protagonist's mouth and a head shot of the protagonist, this is the first time in the intro credits you see Dexter properly.

Research 4

I chose this movie Blue Valentine because I like how the characters are shown behind different fireworks. I also like how the fireworks symbolise the romance of the characters shown behind them. The lighting is dark but the lighting of the fireworks brightens up the clips. The camera angles in each screen shot are similar and are medium shots, I think this helps to show the characters and shows detail of their actions. The title "Blue Valentine" is shown quite boldley which makes it stand out more.

Research 3

I chose the movie Deadwood because it was filled with interesting camera angles and effects.

I chose this screen shot because I like the way the wheel of the carriage is reflected in the puddle of water.

I liked this shot as you can see a close up of the wheel and the mud coming off of it.

The blood running down gives a sense that it is a horror movie and is quite sinister.

I like this shot because you get a close up of the mud so we get a sense of the setting of the movie.

The head shots in this shot helps portray what type of characters they are.

I also chose this shot because of the reflection of the setting in the puddle. I think it adds a good effect and still hides part of the setting.
