How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Girl with Schizophrenia from my movie

I think both actresses from both movies have similarities to them and the way they are portrayed in the movie have similarities also. Before choosing my actress I did background research on Schizophrenia to see what the disorder entails as I knew it would be a difficult role to play. However I feel my actress suited to the role and portrayed a character with Schizophrenia well.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

With my movie being a Drama, I would want a production company that has already produced a Drama genre before as the would have experience and know what I need to do to get my movie out to an audience. 

I have made my own production company for my opening sequence

Below is Paramount Pictures who were the production company for The Godfather and many more. However, The Godfather was sent straight to the cinema and as I would not have the funds I would want my film to be downloaded. This would save money and at the same time give people different options on how they would want to watch the movie.

 Who would be the audience for your media product?

Above is a picture of Brodie Petrie, she is seventeen years old and this is the age I believe my target audience would be, or between the age range of 16-26.  

What film genre do you like to watch? I literally watch every genre, I have an ecclectic taste in movies but I especially like Dramas.


What sort of movie catches your eye? horror/sci-fi/fanatasy


Would you watch my movie? Yes definitely, it looks really interesting.


What did you like about it? I liked the way it moved between the girl being at the sand dunes and then a flashback with the tablets falling.


What would you expect to see in a drama? Dramatic music, flashbacks and a chase or shooting. 


How often do you go to the cinema? Once a month or every other month


Do you often buy movies when you want to watch a film or you watch them on other sources? I hardly ever by DVDs, I usually watch movies online.

How did you attract/address your audience?

I attracted my audience by using conventions that an audience might expect to see in a Drama, for example someone running away and someone with a mental disorder. My opening sequence doesn't give to much away if I were to make a full movie but gives clues to what the rest of the film is about and why the girl is running away. As my movie is set in Jersey, people of Jersey would be attracted to see it as it is set in a well known location and it would be recognised by other visitors who have been to Jersey. 

In order to attract my audience to see my movie I would advertise my movie through Social Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as these sites a visited by over a million of people each day and would supply a Trailer of my movie for people to get a feel of what my movie is about, before distributing it to the cinema.
